I know that the doctors will be lifelong mentors and I look forward to continue growing in this great field of Optometry.  This was an incredible residency program where I learned more than I could have imagined. “I have had the opportunity to participate in a large variety of clinical care and have also gotten a glimpse of the practice management aspect of private practice. This program has been incredible, especially in increasing my knowledge and exposure to neuro-optometric care.  The clinical care has been amazing and I have had the opportunity to work with all kinds of patients. I have also begun learning more about practice management, which has been incredibly enriching as well.

I have absolutely loved this last year learning and growing as a clinician at Eyecare Professionals. With the support of Drs. Tannen, Lee, and Despotidis, I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to be the resident at Eyecare Professionals and look forward to what the future holds!”

I really appreciate all of the time, effort and dedication that Dr. Tannen, Dr. D and Dr. Lee put in to developing me not only as a resident doctor, but as a person as well. Having them all as my mentors is invaluable and I know that these relationships will continue beyond just this year.”

“You have built such an incredible program and for that you should be proud! I am so excited to use all that you have taught me to build my own practice. I can’t express enough how thankful I am for all that you have done.

I had such a wonderful year working with you! So many great memories and laughs. You have taught me so much and I am so grateful for this years’ experience. This program helped me develop my clinical skills, practice management skills, and most of all my confidence.”

Miky Lyn D'Angelo OD

SUNY College of Optometry, Class of 2013
Vision Therapy and Rehabilitation Resident, 2013-2014

“I feel very lucky to have had the opportunity to complete my residency year with Eyecare Professionals. I feel more confident than ever in terms of my knowledge base, clinical abilities and practice management skills. Through my experience with patients of all ages in the vision therapy, ocular disease and primary care I am entering my first year of independent clinical practice with the certainty that I can provide exceptional care to my patients.

This residency program is truly the whole package: exposure to all areas of optometry with a focus in vision therapy and rehabilitation, a module in practice management and best of all a family of doctors that will support you throughout your career. I would encourage any graduating optometrist to consider this residency if they are interested in learning how to successfully develop and manage a vision therapy specialty in a private practice.”

Reagan Darner OD

Reagan Darner, O.D.

Southern College of Optometry, Class of 2012
Vision Therapy and  Rehabilitation Resident, 2012-2013

“I am leaving here with new-found independence and confidence in my knowledge and abilities. I have learned so much about myself, and vision therapy of course. I will for the first time be able to “fake it ‘til I become.” And that process is already well underway, thanks to all of you. Although, when it comes to what I have learned here, I won’t have to fake anything. Last year I would have been apprehensive to attempt implementing vision therapy into another practice or starting my own. I am very confident now in what I have learned that I truly feel I have so much to share and contribute.

There is no way to express my gratitude. I have such great respect for each of you and you are the most generous, kind, and caring people. You three could not have chosen a more wonderful and genuine group of residents to teach and I am so blessed to be part of this family. Each and every member of the EyeCare group has a unique quality to contribute, which makes this practice stand out. I can’t help but be proud for you, for what you all have built together and the support you give one another. Leaving here will be bittersweet. You are all absolutely amazing!

“I am very fortunate to have completed my residency at EyeCare Professionals, P.C.   EyeCare Professionals has provided me with outstanding guidance and instruction and has fostered my growth as a young doctor.  All of the doctors and staff believed in my ability to grow as a resident which provided me with the confidence to develop my own vision therapy practice.   They have made a difference in my life and I am now able to incorporate the knowledge learned through my residency and enhance the lives of others.

I am grateful for the intellectual, clinical, and personal growth EyeCare Professionals has provided.  I will cherish the time spent working alongside such a wonderful team of doctors and staff.  I couldn’t have asked for more.”
